Transocean Reaches Sub-Arctic Deal

Transocean agreed to acquire Norwegian rig operator Aker Drilling for $1.43 billion, expanding into deep, sub-Arctic waters, even as the company faces legal and regulatory scrutiny for its role in last year’s Deepwater Horizon disaster.
